Also, since these Achievements would be "per character", alting would be less useful since if you spend the time to get the, say "Crafter steel armor" achievement, you were not spoending that time raising up an alt. I dunno, just an idea. Even have stuff like "played 1 month without custom client". Would that be possible? For the game or server to tell if you are using a custom client and log it? Imagine how many people would quit botting if they had a "Played 1 year without using custom client" 500 million LP or somesuch. :P

If the game knew if you used a custom client or not wouldn't it be a better idea to simply ban using custom clients? Because I'm pretty sure it doesn't know

there has to be a way, tons of MMo's ban users for using custom clients/hacks.

Haven't you been around long enough to know that we have been over this a million times and that the answer is no?

, tons of MMo's ban users for using custom clients/hacks.

Tons of MMOs spend tons of resources fighting losing battles, yes.

There are ways to prevent it. But as before. Time spent making things safe is time away from game development.

Even larger MMOs have had little to no success making custom clients unmodifiable. Just a matter of time where underground coders would share secrets in unlocking the client and we are back to square one.

Edit: I just realized jorb posted before I did. Any way to remove ones post here in announcements?

You can edit it and replace the text with something insightful and relevant.

Of course, now your post is quoted by me for all eternity, so you have no way to hide your shame. ;)

Great, can't stop/have the server recognize botting. Lovely. that most definitely wasn't the thrust of what I wrote in that post, it was just a suggestion for one achievement, way to completely fucking ignore what I was saying.

It's kind of an ok idea but with no limit on stats, nobody will bother skilling farming stats on their combat character just for that once in a lifetime LP boost. Instead they will just spam the char with curios.

It would however, feel good to achieve achievements.
