Now i understand the Witchcraft... Seems like its going to be a massive part to the game, rather excited now.

actually, witchcraft itself is said by jorb and loftar to be rather "high end" stuff for a very few players who manage to reach there, and not supposed to be something every player can experience easily. the more important/intended part of the concept as i read seems to be "witch hunt" part than "witchcraft" to me ;)
(forgot where i read it but should be in one of those articles linked *somewhere* on this thread.)

So Witches will be somewhat elite, and few and far between, is what your saying ?
Sounds decent, would prefer it to work that way too...

Though they'd be outnumbered by what.. 30 to 1 ?
What would the benefit even be for being a witch or even half interested in witchcraft as all i can see so far, is its going to get you hunted, and or killed...

Any reason why any of you would bother trying it ?

he he, right.
but you know, the whole point of witch hunting *can* be, at some point, not about finding the real witch ;)
and who can resist making a magic broom and fly on it when you can?!

Well if what they said about witchcraft is true, the broom could be pretty op... The ultimate bounty hunter. Pick a summonable scent fly past their walls and summon the bastards XD I guess any village would protect a witch that curses the village enemies and uses her powers to protect the village. I dont see viable a witch playing solo, but in a village that accepts to protect her. I definitely see one being pretty powerful

Witches seem to be taking the place of high skill combat chars that are prone to griefing/raiding in haven right now. Basically it's giving the griefers an in game outlet to their desire to ruin others days, and is giving them a legitimate purpose for it. People are gonna do it one way or another, why not incorporate it into the game design. Makes sense to me anyway.

All powerful villages will likely employ some kind of witch. But I expect her to live away from the main city in some sort of vault if those are possible to construct. Otherwise the big villages are just going to be blatant about who their witches are.

I suppose a lot depends on how witch combat works. If they're stealth fighters, that's one thing. But if they're fireball blasting killing machines, expect the majority of warfare to be conducted by as many witches as can be assembled and kept fed with cursed players. The mobility is powerful enough on its own.

I'm actually wondering if larger towns will pay smaller settlements to let them farm curses on them without resistance. Could be an interesting market.

I see you guys refer to Witches as Her.
Does that mean, no male character may be a witch ?

Actually, "Warlock" is the appropriate term.

Wiccais a modern religion based on various ancient religions and cults from the mainstream to the obscure, mostly centered around paganism.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
