Tbh, how offensive the image is isn't really the point, or not why I was commenting anyway. I agree with you Ramones, I see things on here, and not just in picture form, that make me literaly ashamed to be part of this community at times, lol. Everyone has different views on what is or isn't offensive and how offensive it is to them. It's not the moderators job to decide 'how' offensive an image is if it goes against the rules, offense is mainly subjective. The point is that it was against the rules and the image was removed, rather than just accept it, or even just have a moan then accept it, Arcanist said this:

If he hadn't I doubt there would be any further comments, well, at least I wouldn't have commented anyway. :)

ramones wrote:Is really that gif considered that much offensive? Personally i find a lot of pictures on forum much much more disturbing that this censored one which I found it as a funny joke (though it could be put up in other context, didn't see the post itself). On other hand I agree there shouldn't be such harsh reactions, they're never good.

even if his reply hadn't triggered #4, it still fell under #6

TeckXKnight wrote:A disturbing image was posted and removed by a mod, me in this instance. In response you post another disturbing image that purposefully looks like a dog fellating a dude as if this is somehow appropriate. You can play cute and try to skirt whatever line you want, but those kinds of images are highly inappropriate here. If you wish to push the issue the result will be the same and I hope that you don't.

I guess I should've posted the one that looked like the boxers having s*x, that would never get removed here.

The original gif removed was of a frog that had been cut open and prepared that was still frantically squirming and writhing on someone's food plate. That felt to be in poor enough taste to warrant removal with a moderator note attached. If you really felt that I had gone over the line in removing it, escalating the situation was not the best way to communicate that.

I apologize that you feel that the banhammer was issued quickly, but without a doubt in my mind you knew the rules and had seen a moderated action just take place, and proceeded on to spite rather than accidentally or unknowingly.

That is sooo awful, I wish you hadn't said Teck.
But I, for one, am so grateful you removed it. Seeing it would have been much worse. :(

What you don't realise Arcanist, is that whilst you may find that funny, ppl like me find it dreadful and distressing and then have that image stuck in their heads afterwards with no easy removal - it's so unfair to do that to people, it is not funny either, but you probably don't care less about that. Sad. :(

If anyone feels they have to post things like that for whatever reason, we have a hide feature now, the least you could do is use it and put a warning so that others know not to look!

I couldn't remember which it was, but I knew it was on the line. Thanks for the reminder.

Due to the biology of frogs and muscles, even a dead one will spasm like crazy. So was it disturbing? Yes, in how it was done, but from a hunter/fisherman who's prepared more than a few frogs, it's not really "disgusting". (FYI, I did a similar thing in my high school biology class as part of the dissection process. Half the class was "ewww" and the other half was "I saw this when I was 6")

Oh wow, you people get more sensitive by every minute. I guess soon we will have to say goodbye to emoticons because they are too offensive ;)
