I've always been trying to keep the Haven/Salem/Hafen clients compatible down to Java 5. As far as I know, there's nothing currently in the client breaking that. As far as Mac compatibility goes, I'm pretty sure it runs and all, but that there may be UI issues due to different/missing keys/buttons. Since I don't have a Mac and cannot test it myself, I'm afraid someone else will have to solve those problems, to whatever extent they exist, in a custom client.

Good to hear. Thanks for the info and the great games.

Wish you luck, Jorbtar. Friendly competition is always nice.

I have a question, though. Will this be a commercial game (like Salem) or will it continue to be 100% free like H&H1?

As I read some other posts on different forum topic's, you mentioned to Pie in a Irc that he shouldn't expect the game to stay the same. Would we see any chance to give greater customization to the characters? Or just the simple Man/women sprites seen in the main game?

Is the Personal Beliefs staying? Or could we see something of more like a Over all rounded character selection such as no (Nature/industrial) that would affect mining and farming.

I would also like to know what you meant by certain players can traverse land and you mentioned Wolf territories. Are you thus adding in the wolves for the new rewrite? And can we expect to see different animal's along with them.

Why? You create game, more to say, hardcore sandbox game, so everyone who will even heard about it will be skilled enough to update java.

You can only upgrade Java if your computer is compatible. For example, mine is 10.6.8 and Java 7 works for 10.7 and higher. It has nothing to do with skill. :)

Probably mac user. Use virtual machine with windows.
No need to support old java versions/mac/linux until you have like 10+ developers and some money :)
One page with links/explanations how to run it in virtual machines is enough
