Oh, don't worry about that. Hetzner replaces them for free, even.

Too late! That's very generous of the company, however. Thank you for keeping us informed.

"Replace any hardware part with a specific reason" 0 Euro - as the Server is rented it's their job to care for running hardware...but i know from different ppl they're trying hard to do a good job...

The MiniMap data can be regenerated from the world itself by Loftar, as he did after the last hard drive replacement.
I personally would prefer new MiniMap data as there has been significant paving and building construction in my area.
I have not been able to find any in game way to update the MiniMap myself; even using cartography does not update it. :(
Loftar, can you add a way to make the server update the MiniMap my character is currently on, perhaps as a side effect of using cartography?

Keep up the good work. Thanks.

So there, I finally got her up and running again.

The RAID resync is currently running and is at this moment reporting that it will take 690 minutes to complete, but the speed is seldomly even, so that might very well change in either direction.

Unfortunately, the minimaps were indeed lost, and the reason the minimaps haven't been updating for a while is because I've been trying to run the server with map compression (which I haven't yet implemented in the minimap renderer, so it can't read them), so I'll need to run the server without map compression for a while so that it has a chance to resave the maps uncompressed before I can render new minimaps.

Not until it has time to regenerate.

I for one would love to See W7, but not in it's current state, so i guess, like all of us, we patiently wait and see if we get the "little things" ironed out before we move on to the big things.

on topic. could the hardware failure come from any kind of "attack" or whatnot?

we've already seen peeps crash the server and what not, as well as "hacking" in other forms.

i'm prolly just too paranoid
