I thought people actually finished games before creating a hard release date

A delayed game is eventually good, while a rushed game is forever bad.
Why is everyone so mad about this? It means more hours are being put in and we don't get another Salem. If anything, I'm glad the time is being taken to polish up the mapgen some more. Take all the time you need, I say.



Another video would still be nice though.

It's fine. Id rather the game works. But a new pic or brief review of new features to tease us with would be nice.

I realize that I will be breaking hearts and killing puppies with this announcement, but our ambitions for the new map generator have broken the release schedule a bit, and we will thus require another week to bring everything up to speed for launch.

Our new target date for release is now instead the 28th of August.
