Naowhut what if someone someone doesn't have a mic anyway, and can't talk because of that, or if someone made an alt with the ability to speak.
Also, if your character was crippled somehow, wouldn't it just be more efficient to make a new one than continue building a broken one, ergo making the system pointless?

I think I took your joking at face value but whatever.
I hate fun.

You can stop speculating in voice chat. :)

It's not like I intrinsically and necessarily hate the idea (although there are obvious caveats, as have been discussed), but the relatively large undertaking it means combined with the rather marginal benefits gained, means that it's rather far from the top on my list of priorities.

The idea of a public voice chat/in-game voice chat was never really high on my list for things I want in new haven. I can imagine now people swarming walls with alts playing loud music

Before voice chat is implemented I'd like to see some kind of clan or guild system, beyond the current village system and even spanning outside of the game to allow you to chat and keep contact while not logged in. This would replace the current massive reliance on Skype, a service that's pretty shitty completely unrelated to the game.

If you had a super high statted character and i
were to cut off it's hands and tongue, would you
just kill it and start over?

I just like the roleplay possibilities i guess, like i
have always dreamed of possibilities that are fun
or at least better than dying for both players that
are involved in resolving a crime.

Ex.
A player steals from another's stall... 3 wishbones.

In current game you use the scent, hunt him down
and kill him... he all "Wtf it was just wishbones"
and you MAY <---- MAY. Feel bad... like i typically
did if i was told to kill someone i felt didn't deserve
it.

But imagine if there were things you could do to him
that would make him think twice before doing the
same thing again. Imagine if X amount of scents could
be consumed permanently to inflict X permanent
effect on him. (After KOing him). Lets say 10 theft
scents can be used to cut off his hand which halves
his inventory, permanently disables that equipment
slot, and marks him as a thief. He has a lot of stats
and if he died he would lose his entire homestead due
to a key being on his body.

Would he just kill his character after going full trad
and start over? Maybe, but that's a lot of time down
the drain regardless all because he stole, and he
does not have to start from 0

THEN LETS IMAGINE A MURDER SCENT CAN BE USED
ENSLAVE A PEASANT HEARTHLING. HE IS IMMEDIATELY
LOCKED IN A FOLLOW ON THE RANGER AND IS THEN
TAKEN TO A SEX DUNGEON (Like one of Ainran's many
sex palaces) WHERE HE IS KEPT WITH ALL THE OTHERS.
ENTIRELY NAKED WITH NO CHOICE BUT TO EAT, SEX,
AND DIE. However while dragging him back to your
sex dungeon he can be freed if his captor is KO'ed.

Perhaps a reward for the captor in some manner.

Sorry... i'm goin on and on... i just really want an
alternative to killing criminals, but there are lots of
obvious downsides to most things i can think of =x

That would work. First summon and you lose your hand and half of inventory space. Second summon and you lose your other hand too and all inventory space. Third summon and you lose your leg and you lose half of your movement speed. Fourth summon and you lose your second leg too and you cant move. If you are still able to murder somone (shooting) he can summon and kill your character.
