does anyone know if people fought on horseback in the iron age? Don't see a lot of it in the sagas I've read, anyway.

Try as early as 2500BC, yeah... The horse and man have had a relationship for a LONG time.

(Not nearly as long as the Dog, which is like 10,000 BC or so)

Well, I know they were domesticated for sure - and you're obviously right that some cultures clearly rode into battle in the iron age. I'm more wondering about germanic cultures though. Most of the stuff I've read has been more about seafaring people, who maybe had less use for cavalry.

Edit: apparently Caesar recruited "germanic" cavalry as auxiliaries, so seems like they did exist even very early - maybe the more inland tribes?

Horse use in combat was relegated to masters of the art or light and scout cavalry. It was not until the stirrup made riding more secure it became massively used.

Is the game still not coming out till the 28th or did they fix everything? I am going to college on the 24th of this month and I want to make sure I can play or I should just lose my hope.
