Personally I see it like this..If you play and don't like it come back to H&H..I mean J&L did say that H&H is their baby and they will continue to work on it.. :D

Other than that dang all anyone ever does is whine and cry..Yes I have made a few posts whining but just to vent and then back to the game..

This thread should go something like this CONGRATS J&L you have done a wonderful job and we all are very thankful for the chance to play H&H and any other game you guys make...Keep up the great work and we can't wait to give it a try..Your loyal fans always.. ;)

Combat will use a real-time, positional system, so players can use terrain to an advantage.

There will be an item exchange system involving the Hudson Bay Trading Company, and an auction house to sell crafted wares.

Indians will also inhabit the area as a faction to be trusted or fought against.

basically a mixture of H&H and World of Warcraft..

I honestly don't see a cash shop being too bad. If the equip system is anything like H&H, then there's plenty of slots with no real use. Would be easy to make items dyeable, then sell dyes, as well as offer vanity items for slots which have no other use. Cloaks or capes would be a good example.

Another factor is that with perma-death, full looting, etc, anybody who would buy game-enhancing items would quickly have a target painted on their back. Also due to the nature of the game, items which are bound to you don't make a lot of sense, so those items would even help stimulate the economy via being able to be sold/stolen/whatever.

People would likely be careful about buying anything, even vanity items, as it stands out and shows other players that they've got neat stuff that's not possible to get in game. Game-enhancing items, if they existed, would only be truly safe to purchase if you're already incredibly confident in your abilities, and those who are at the top and have no cash to spend could likely take them from others if they so desired.

No matter what they do, it's going to be a very different dynamic than it would be in any other game. It's also unlikely with permadeath as many people will be willing to purchase items to begin with. I know I'd be hard pressed to spend real life money on an item I have no guarantee I'll still have tomorrow, if somebody else decides they want it.

Whatever ends up happening, it'll be uniquely-designed to fit the game.

It is not the end of the world or anything if something like this goes in, and JLo can still keep HnH their little socio-econonomic experiment, even if Salem is tainted. Still, the purely player driven economy/politics/justice of HnH has largely been what has kept me at the game for so long, and a cash shop (with resellable items) would be a clean break with this line of thought.

On a late note: A big congratulation to Jorb and Loftar for this well earned chance to show a larger audience what they are doing! I look forward to see what differences and similarities there are between Salem and Haven, and what you can do with the backing of a large publisher.

Why? In my opinion it's much better for the items to be able to be resold, thus allowing anybody to trade for them, than to keep then only in the hands of those with cash. This causes those with the cash to spend to spend more because they can directly translate it into in game funds, and thus allowing them to be available to a larger playerbase.

Don't get me wrong, ideally I'd prefer no cash shop at all. However it's almost inevitable. They need to make money somehow. May as well make the best of it.

We discussed the food system yesterday. Man, oh man, is it going to be awesome.
