Does this all boil down to an issue of not having enough money for a better server? If that's the case, I'd be interested to see if you could give a rough estimation of how much money would need to be raised. Thanks for trying to fix the lag, hopefully you figure something out

Anyways, I can play HnH pretty well. It's lagging, but not enough to deter me, the most frustrating part is when I'm trying to walk a cart out of a door and keep getting stuck  but I can do just about everything I would be doing anyways, albeit slower.

Id gladly donate for a better server.

I'd get a job and give my paycheck for a no-lag server

Well, I guess it can't hurt too much trying to defragment and see whether it might help.

Just to make it clear beforehand: No, I don't know how long it will take, and no, I don't know whether it helps. :)

how much donation would it be required for a couple of SSDs? that should help with lots of random writes. lol

Depending on the size of whatever you're defragmenting, could take anywhere from a few hours to a few days :geek:

The problem is how we'd get them into Hetzner's data center. ;)

Make your hearthfire in the server and then have the SSD's spawn there.

But loftar, won't defrag run a significant risk of file corruption and bring us a laggy w7?

Also why not

1) Turn off loggin
2) Revert back to Debian 5.0 and have the same stuff prior to the OS upgrade? Tried and true, we know it's at least bearable.
