The way it's set up now basically anyone who registers from here on out is fucked when it comes to making any early progress. The entire area around Boston is a wasteland for foragables.

I was lucky enough to find a couple arrowheads and get my own homestead so I've got my own private land to run around and forage, but I can't imagine wandering around Boston aimlessly looking for a smooth stone to finally get started.

No random spawning in the world when you start? :(
Yesterday I murdered a rock, beat up a stone. Hospitalized a brick, I'm so mean I make medicine sick.

Nah everyone spawns at a central hub city. You then have to find some stuff to sell (arrowheads, feathers) in order to buy a "hearth fire" randomly somewhere in the wilderness.

Ah so like a noob starting area leading to random spawn in wilderness, that's cool :)

oh wow beta came and no announcement. I should know what im doing since I played alpha but im just as hopelessly confused as everyone else.

the new boston looks awesome but seems like they totally made the new player experience even more painful and tedious.

why did they put a huge pointless no spawn area around boston, and then add rivers around the borders so we cannot get out into the wilderness? did they forget new players don't have 20 silver or swimming.

and where did all the chestnuts go, even outside boston I haven't found a single one. I saw a guy trying to buy them in boston 15 silver each. hilarious considering how common they used to be.

anyway im sure my luck will improve and I'll start enjoying it :)

So it's everything that the Ring of Brodgar was then.
