That's been the biggest complaint so far.... but I think it allow us to make new friends and make it more interesting.

A bit harder to make a Brodgar in the short term. Maybe it can be linked to a giant road network though.

All roads lead to Brodgar....

Can be a trade hub.

Trade Hubs are awesome but dangerous.

As long as there's a day 1 world map it doesn't matter, can just spend a bit of time getting lp and rush to boat building then have to spend like 3 hours sailing to correct location.

I'm pretty sure there won't be a world map on day 1. Probably within the first week though, so I guess you'll just have to set up a tiny camp yourself until you know where you are.
Unless there's going to be a system where you can know your coordinates or something.
Hope you have a great day

Without dedicated client mapping it actually takes a long time to map worlds. I wouldn't bank on having access to a reliable world map for quite some time.

We'll just have to see how much different the client is from the current one.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Actually the world map will be discovered quicker I think this time around. With factions all over the world at start they have to connect so in their journeys to each other they will assuredly ma it faster to get everyone together. I give it a week tops for the big factions to have a basic world view. Unless there are more surprises we've not been told. :)
