I just got around to messing around with more of the moves (i've been having trouble bringing myself to log onto to salem), from what i've seen, it's a little better then it was, but it still feels clunky as hell. I think i just don't like the directional attacks, so i could be biased. Granted most of my experience with this new system is with animals, and a bit of testing damage and balance / reel on alts considering i haven't seen another player except for the RL friend i play with (who has lag issues and half my stats so i can't really fight him either. Also no spars, and in the darkness we'll get continuously KO'd ) in like a month.

I really don't like directional attacks, even more so when u can walk out of the way of just about anything. One thing i've liked about haven is you could have 300 UA and 100 base of each stat with lag issues, and still be a body in a group fight, throwing the occasional punch, op knocks, or evil eye. You're still helpful at least. In salem, if you have lag, you might as well sit inside and farm, and forget about combat.

I dunno though, people might have different and higher opinions of the combat, but i really just can't bring myself to play salem. I don't know what it is, but i don't feel the same drive to raise stats i do in haven, or the same drive to do, well, anything. The only things i like about salem is the braziers for defense, and the inspirational system, everything else just bores me to the point of logging off the game. I think it's mostly because everything is passive maintenance every few days (farming, making more coal clamps every few days) and that theres no real purity grind.

Sorry, i got really off topic there, started typing about combat and went to a rant about other stuff :D

I completely agree with Clark. Salem combat has always felt very clunky, and the ability to just outmaneuver anyone and walk away from them is stupid. 4 goons tried to murder me and while they chased me for 30 minutes none of them managed to hit me once even though I only had phlegm for walking speed, and they all sprinted.
I feel like salem combat should have a higher emphasis on "RPG" elements. The complexity of haven's combat is one of the major points of this game IMO.

Wipe is according to loftar "hopefully" coming on Monday to Salem.

So to everyone that hates me: come join Salem and kill me starting next Monday :D.

H&H is pretty good, actually, asides from 0 defence on move.

"End of Beta" event just happened in Salem. Last minutes it was full blown-out PvP in Boston (The protective village claim was removed). Server is down currently. Heard about 1 hour until new server goes up (you would still need key though).
