You have 100% learning as a free player, or you can pay monthly for 5 bucks a month and get 360% learning instead. That way you pathetic worthless garbage 14 year olds that can't afford 5 bucks a month, can still play this magnificient game, and bob dole gets to feast on your bodies with his superior skills and attributes. Bob dole is a genius!

and so you can get fucking 720% with full change! this is incredible!

What about giving a whole village with everything disponible by paying 50 bucks? now you can skip the boring part of the game at all!

H&H is the game that most embraces the central point of an MMO: you have hundreds of people playing in the same world; give them some systems and human nature will lead to interesting situations, don't just make shiny rollercoasters that everyone can queue for.

The problem is that the systems perhaps aren't deep enough, or the world is too empty. If farming was as deep as the entire current crafting system, so that someone could specialise as a farmer and not be bored; or if the world was more dynamic (simulated animal populations etc) (and I think this is where they're trying to go with the Darkness in Salem, a large external force to be dealt with by the players, not just some boars popping into existence and randomly wandering before despawning because nobody is close by) then maybe Haven would be legendary. But that might need more than 2 devs, 12 devs and the son of god perhaps.

I have put in a ludicrous amount of time to H&H and enjoyed it in the spirit of a beta. If it dies, I've had my fun, thankyou jorb and loftar.

the problem is, haven will die. i dont think many poeple, including the devs, realy realise that there is a point that this game can pass where it just wont exist anymore even if it gets fixed. which is a stupendous waste, since Haven is a game that nothing else has really been able to match in its genre, and not matter how much they tweak and "fix" salem it will never be able to live up to what this game could have been if it got more love. more people leave every day, one of these days the current server population is going to hit 0 and its not going to go back up once it reaches that point.
i really need to find a good signature

Soooo, how about making our own version of Haven? I have seen some efforts, but have only started learning the programming part ( currently learning python). I know there is a lot of talented members here. I would like to be a part of something like that, i think. Are there any current projects going on right now?

I don't know anything about programming/coding/drawing/etc, but you'll have all my moral support if you start this project somehow.

Well, I have began the programming effort, but I do know that there is a ton of work aside from the coding, once I actually know my way around a language. I will continue to learn with the goal of making a game that satisfies my need to play H&H, and in the meantime, if anyone else has a similar project, I would love to support/assist with it. If the community can make a game that we want to play, that would be awesome.

Lol, I have already, and while I am interested, I still really want to play haven. Topia is not haven, but I think it would be possible to support a server with donations and ads alone, eh? Perhaps I should move this conversation to a more appropriate thread

Well maybe a kind of a freeshard like UO would be nice. Id like to see Haven alive but under this circumstances i am sadly unmotivated to "play"...
At all, it would be cool if Jorb and/or Loftar give us all needed stuff to set up a lill homeserver or an own public server, maybe singleplayer/lan? No clue, but it would be nice to feel the haven aspect.

Edit: And maybe they have a backup of the coding of world 3? XD

I rally dislike curios, a reason i stopped salem

Hurr Durr. I'm gonna be the lone dissenting voice. You literally "don't" have a life do you?
