You know this would have been acceptable IF the old LP system returned.
Honestly, haven and hearth has gone to hell in a hand basket.

Well, that's a pipe dream. They'll never return to that. Will the LP system remain the same it is today? I'm going to say "Probably not." They were planning this in the middle of w3.

At least I hate it at early stage of the game. Later on I don't have so much need of quick LP's... But now I just can't wait so long to get LP's I bloody need.

I'm not sure where it's worse though? You gain lp faster, do considerably less work specifically for lp, are heavily rewarded for exploring and building up your land, are encouraged to not grind the same task repetitively for hours on end, always have something to trade to others/trade for, aren't punished for only playing an hour or two a day, and so on.

The only people it really does punish is no-lifers who dedicate large amounts of time every day to the game because the increases in lp gain they see versus that of casual players really is minimal. I love no-life players a lot and their efforts towards a successful settlement are really invaluable but they don't really see great gains until their investments come to fruition much later on.

The biggest difference in this lp system versus the last is that instead of getting, say, 6 lp every 8 seconds, you're getting 5,000 an hour.

They need 'dem numbers popping up over their heads. Instant gratification for the no attention span generation, dude.

You end up grinding the "curios" you will be using instead of grinding say buckets.

You end up having to spent 10mins every 1hr to swarp curios (example) everyday VS spending 1hr a day grinding buckets.

The grind is there, its just different now. Since instead of spending 2hrs hunting animals / grinding buckets / dig botting, you spent 2hrs finding the curios you will be using.

Though I am glad it limits digging bots for LP gain, now a player playing 1hr worth of hnh a day (in 10min chunks) can out gain a person playing 1hr straight. (With identical curios etc)

People said the new system will free up time so ppl can do other stuff, for me I find it a "yes and no". It makes ppl more selfish since they will want to go out foraging / crafting curios for themselves and not help with the village stuff like building new walls or expansion since they get no LP".

Overall I think the new LP system is better than the old one BUT its far from perfect and needs alot more tweaking since tis too overpowered for a zerg army. Log in 100 Alts every few hrs and refresh curios VS 100 Bots digging soil, same thing different name.
