yeah keep this announcements threads cluttered with C&I stuff (that has been posted different times in C&I) so that yours got read but everyone looking for news informations gets a hard time finding it ...

Jesus_Smith_Nandez wrote:W7 isn't exactly crowded

I'd see it different and i know people that do see it the same for their certain areas - and i watch closely the everyday new spawns or people that move from elsewhere messing up because they don't care what they do at existing doorsteps and then brag at forums about huge claims
...

And if you want to have close "Community areas" why don't you create them yourself? That's what others like Yolan or Robben did and others still do (for example Eem City) - but you're just the "Lone Wanderer" ...

And for nerfing porting: too many stuff is already timeconsuming like hell - i wouldn't want to expand that by having to do all the transporting in the same timeconsuming manner

I know it has been suggested before, but I don't think quite in the way I have put it or for hafen, and I actually wanted a dev to see it while the game is in development than have it die is C&I

A nerf in claims would have to be in place but idk how it would work with massive lp banks on a smaller world, probably not for the better. A simple nerf would be to make it so you don't get lp for declaiming a pclaim.

What I meant by W7 not being crowded is you can walk a good hour in one direction before seeing a village, and a good part of a day before seeing another player at all. The world just feels very empty, inactive, and devoid of life becuase it's so big, with so few players, and people quitting all the time.

I don't make an effort to make large community areas because I don't have the time, charisma, or diplomatic skills to make one, and it simply isn't my play style. Wandering is my play style, while trying to making community areas and progress politically is Yolan or Vaku''s play style. And, if you look back, why live in a big dangerous city when you can just live alone/in a small trusted group and trade goods with fuckin' anyone anywhere whenever you want? This idea is more promoting big idea's and cities because you won't be able to trade as easily in batshit nowhere and it will give living in large open communities some actual merit rather than just novelty.

As for things taking too long, many things are or can easily be added to hafen to make it quicker. Horses are already confirmed, a smaller map would make getting place to place much quicker, difficult terrain is confirmed (I think) and would promote building and following roads, a revamped road system could help make roads quicker, easier to follow, and worth making and following, and, lastly, traveling the world shouldn't be a chore, it's my favourite part of the game, or, if it is a chore and takes too long, you can always make an effort to fix it by moving, it isn't unavoidable.

Making the world smaller would just make people quit. If the world would be smaller, it'd be much harder to find a good and isolated campsite to hide from greefers. I don't know what people think, but I don't want to let russians steal my pants again.

And again, using roads would be just like using rivers... if you settle near one, most likely you just condemn yourself to death.

If world would be to small I would make it my primary objective to clear cut the world forcing a world reset.

I dunno why you think you need a large world to steer clear of griefers, Stop building hobo camps right off of a river, duh, That's what those guys do, boat around and look for changes in their grids

Build your hobo camp away from the river, and at make sure a fresh map won't load a picture of your camp and clear cutting without leaving a boat.
Sure, you'll have to walk with a boat longer to get a good trek going, but at least you won't be killed.

Didn't force a world reset in w1, why would that change anything.
