(Edit: Jackard beat me to it.)

Do you understand the concept of an alpha, or is the idea lost on you? =)

Hahahaha oh yeah man it's an alpha I forgot, I'm sorry I can understand thoughtful arguments without having a stroke

I'm with Phaedroth on this.

Most importantly, it's actually an extension of teleportation, not a crippling of it. Before you could port between your idol/hearth/RoB/last log in. You can _still_ do all those things under the adventure menu, except that it now tires you out somewhat. Not unreasonable. However, furthermore, we can now set up trade routes via these signs, such that any person can get around to interesting parts of the world to visit and trade without mindnumbing amounts of walking. Boats and carts would be great, and I still want them, but this world is freaking huge.

Can you, really? It seems to me that you're missing the entire point of an alpha, which is to smooth out problems and hiccups in the design and concept of a game. You're having a fit that there ARE problems and hiccups, like some child choking on some free sweets.

If you don't like it, the door is that way ->

This is part of the problem of testing games. You end up with fanboys who don't think criticism has any place in testing, which of course is wrong. This is an alpha because they want to show this game off and because they want people to help them build it with advice, bug hunting, etc. We are saying there is a fundamental problem with the way they are doing things, so just because it is negative you don't need to go crazy. If you don't like seeing people point out problems with a game during a stage of development about pointing out problems, maybe you are the one who should leave. Or maybe you could just stop being so argumentative and remain civil, hey?

There's a difference between constructive criticism and "FFS DEVS JUMP GUN DEY R BADZ PPL", despite Jorb and Loftar probably knowing the trouble with the system and just trying to implement a system to test. Nevermind the fact that, considering it's not a commercial game, I doubt they could give less of a crap.

Civilty wasn't broken by me first:

Would be nice if we could use claim stakes as a travel beacon.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

well.. i like that system. it a) more realistic and b) not everyone can go 10000miles to the outback to settle there. it will be a fucking hard work to start a settlement far away.

The complaint you raise seems more based on fun for testers than on ability to test features or momentum of development...

Or maybe you could just stop being so argumentative and remain civil, hey?

Very good point. No one ever needs to drop manners, disagree with points, not people

I don't know, TBH I think I was pretty civil in that post. That aside, I don't understand why you have some mind-block against the idea that you're more likely to come up with solid conclusions about game mechanics from a fully implemented system. Can we agree on this point?

I also doubt they care about the criticism. They're doing it their way because it's their game. More power to them. But we're all still going to bitch when things get silly.
