So, wait, this means that if shockedfrog wanted to screw up someone's apple tree sapling, he could just stand next to it for several hours while snoozing and hope nobody murders him and carts off his bones before the tree tries to grow? :P

Yes, but I'd say that if he wants to be standing AFK for up to 16 hours (in a forest; 64 hours on grassland) to nerf one tree... then that's probably reason enough for you to plant trees. ;)

hah

Question: Do hearth fires in cabins effect the civilization of a place at all? I don't notice any dent in the civ level at our place, and we have four hearth fires in cabins.

Yes, hearth fires in cabins should at least affect the civilization rating of an area. However, it will probably not show on the map in the beginning of this thread, since they wouldn't have been loaded at the time we produced it.

Yeah, we generated the map yesterday, but log cabins don't actually count their inner civilization rating until someone walks into them for the first time (since they haven't had that functionality previously). Therefore, hearth fires inside cabins will probably not reflect upon the civilization of that map, since it was generated before people had time to walk into their houses for the first since the census system was implemented.

Is there any advantage to planting firs over apple trees?

They look different.
Apple trees start to look boring.

I happen to live in a very fir-intensive area, so they make me feel at home.
