It is what it is though. And it's still the best out there, in spite of all the (unfortunately majority, it seems) of meta-gamers.
We have to take care of our own immersion, no use blaming others if we can't.
Just be a hermit, rationalize all the out-of-game behavior as you sharing a world with possessed lunatics, who you have to deal with, that's what I do. It is still possible to trade, just ignore the meta-stuff.
That usually involves ignoring the forums and IRC as well, which is a shame too, because there are a lot of good people in this community.
Just a trade off between immersion in the dark spooky world of H&H and being part of the community.
It's a shame, but not a huge one.
I wish there was a section of the community dedicated to immersion, but I can't see it ever happening, for a start you'd have to stop people moaning about the meta-gamers, and instead integrate them into your own immersive experience. That is possible personally, but as soon as people group up then their out-of-game personas take over.
Anyway, off-topic so blah.
