I think it's a good idea to remove the hearth secret. I walked to people I knew in Salem already and it actually took pretty long but it's just a one-time investment after all. My only regret would be that I miss out on some of that sweet makeshift camp feeling that I got in Salem in the first days due to arriving late to the party in the new Haven. Really looked like a shabby trapper encampment with lots of promise from the unexplored surrounding lands.
But anyway, I don't think it will stop people who love the game from playing with their friends. Some grave alt problems would be patched up in return. On the other hand I don't believe that it will make people from an area bond together so much more. That would require a stronger incentive.

Also great idea with the road teleportation. I wonder how this will work out.

I kind of like the idea of a "single-player MMO" but once a map is made, it'll just be an inconvenience.

I would like to see snowy mountains, and weather/seasons to that extent.

Hannibal's army crossing the alps comes to mind when I think of traversing harsh terrain.

Definitely an incentive to develop your character to be able to traverse a great snow capped mountain and reach a lush valley beyond it.

I like the idea of seasons but also have to stay warm during winter and staying cool during summer for the extra survival element just like don't starve where u cant stay to long out in the cold or u will freeze to death or get sick :)

Haha yeah, I was thinking of the Carson Pass as I wrote that, the Hannibal thing definitely makes more sense in this context.
