edit: i assume you've looked into colocation instead of hosting already?

I've tried looking into colocation, but I don't really know where to look, to be honest. :)

I can't seem to find much good for handling of just one spurious server; the companies I've found seem to focus on far more massive operations involving whole racks and wanting me to "contact their sales department for a quote".

Well said Ninijutsu and here I thought you were just a mindless brute
No jk jk but ya just wanted to say what he said and thanks loftar for the updates/keeping the game up at all and all the lil things you do.

Speaking of salem, Loftar you need to make it so you can put your teleporting spot inside a house, because right now there is no way I know of to prevent being summoned :(

Loftar. You should have the server shutdown for a year or so. Until all the bugs etc is fixed.
Thank you SacreDoom for the awesome profile picture you made!

A very good question. I asked them the last time and they insisted it was just bad luck. I'm not sure where to take it from there, really. I'm not really cut out for conflicting with people; if only there were a good Internet connection anywhere local to me, I'd much rather manage the server personally.

Loftar any chance that you could get them to use SAS drives? I guess it would depend on if the server can support them. I haven't heard great things about "Enterprise" SATA drives. I might ask what duty cycle the drives you are getting are rated for. I wonder if some of your problem is your taxing the IO so much that the drive heads are flying off the arms. lol

Wel anyways thanks for a great game.. at least I can play salem now while I wait for the repairs. hehe

loftar is there a possibility that you will not use XFS as the file system this time? :)
