siege engines that take a significant amount of time and resources to build so the defender has time to react. this here is just a spit in the face for every town with walls. Basically it means every jerk that wants to get inside your city makes 3 alts, equips them with a btt and a bearcape and crushes your wall.

those 4 also would probably also need vandalism probably.

Great update guys, this will definitely help fix misplaced houses and such, and the world will stay much cleaner for a longer time.

Does each of the alts need vandalism
to break a wall? i should test this out...

Maybe there should be a way to know if
there's a siege engine in the area of
your claim/village? like interacting with
the idol/stake with a certain item? or??..

Bronze + Glass : scope?.. mayyybe?...

Each operator of a battering ram does need vandalism on owned territory, yes.

It is most likely true that the walls are underpowered and the ram overpowered, however. What would be reasonable, though? 30 soak for palisades and 80 for brickwalls? 3 in-game days for the glue to dry, and perhaps make it so that the ram takes 2% damage for each tile moved, and requires string for repairs (which seems kind of reasonable; seeing how it is probably the suspension of the ram itself that would take damage from movement)?

Taking damage for movement doesn't accomplish anything if it can just be repaired. Rams need a fixed range, and it should be 100 tiles at most.

Imo the best option would be immovable trebuchets that have to be build in a one screen range maximum. But since we got rams already, one reallife day would be ok i guess. So people actually have a chance to scout it. The ram just breaking after it was moved for more than 50-100 tiles is okay too, since you wont be able to build it far away and then repair it all the time while you move to the wall.

It's easy to bring a couple of chests of plant fibre for repairs. Then you just build the ram a couple of minimaps away, hidden behind a random tree, and the victims will never see it coming. If there was a maximum distance you could build the ram at, the defenders could just clear all trees and boulders around their walls to deny cover in that range.

And yeah, I'd have preferred trebuchets too.

Anyway, I still think that brick walls should give you more warning time. So, maybe add trebuchets for them, and make them impenetrable to rams?
