You should not jump to that conclusion yet... the game is not even in open beta.

Agreed. But I think that's straying off topic again. Has anyone else noticed any packet loss recently? Hell, I've noticed it on the forums, too. Never noticed any packet loss whatsover until now in the game. Another thing loftar should look into, when he has the time. Anyone got a few salaries to spare so we can hire him to work full-time on Haven?

You do not seem to understand. In a closed beta there are far less people then in an open beta or of course the published game. So you can not come to that conclusion just now.

Edit: Btw, why is there a Swastika in your Signature?

Last time I checked, Salem is not in an open beta, so Sarchi's statement still holds true. Unless you were referring to Haven and Hearth, in which case, I agree, no conclusion jumping should be made about Haven. This game is dear to me, though, I do hope jorbtar get around to working more on it as soon as possible. Maybe a pipedream at the moment, but a man can hope. On topic, though, the lag seems to have gotten better, at least for me. And with 300 players online, at that. Though still not nearly as good as it was before, very playable.

Rev before submitting: Yep, Mums is right. Unless of course, again, Sarchi was referring to Haven.

The way you capitalise your nouns, even when not proper, suggests to me you may be of Germany? Or at least have German as your native language. Which may make you a bit biased towards the swastika, which is understandable. But, technically speaking, swastikas were actually a sign of good luck before the Nazi party demonised them to the public eye. They are still used to this day in Indian religions such as Jainism, Hinduism, and Buddhism. Even then, a swastika is mostly used to represent fascist ideologies, and fascism in itself isn't something to look down on in any way. Sorry if I misinterpreted you, but I hope you don't think the swastika only to be a symbol of the Nazi party and the damage (and benefit) they have influenced. I just really have a pet peeve for that sort of thing is all. Cheers. And to make myself less of a hypocrite... lag is getting better and better. For me, at least. Perhaps it's because it's a Monday, though, PST.

Yes, I am German... grammar came through :D I do know, that the Swastika in itself is not a symbol of facism. But it is mostly used as that, especially in the internet, or just because someone thinks it is funny... which it obviously is not.

the game is playable when you are alone and far away from villages and other stuff.
alone in a wilderness you can play almost smoothly.

Heh, yeah, I know Germanic languages generally capitalise their nouns. In English though, I'm sure you know, only proper nouns are capitalised, such as specific people, cultures, races, places, etc. and not common nouns such as Dog and Chair. Over here in the West (I live in the Northwestern United States) the swastika is generally used to represent fascism, the Nazi party, and even Hitler himself. And, to clarify, most of those who think it's funny to use, think it's funny because other people get so offended by it. ;) I've never found it offensive myself, perhaps because I have somewhat more obscure political views which I won't mention here, this is neither the time nor place. I feel like such a hypocrite going off topic like this...
Anyway, lag is back. Seems pretty bipolar to me, which could mean possible scheduled processes slowing down the server periodically, such as mentioned before, the RAID-1 parity. (Heh, my in-game name is RAID 1.) I've also noticed a lot of packet loss specifically when picking up objects or doing anything that requires a specific cursor action. If that's any help to you, loftar. Good luck with Salem, good luck with Haven, I know that I'll be playing it as long as its up. Hope you get some time to work on Haven because you know we all love you. ;)

EDIT: Now I feel like a crazy rambler. Well, I am, anyway.
