no, and that sucks a fat one, but it's the way it is unfortunately...

It also means everyone's cows havent died :)

Doubt it. Loftar's update is server infrastructure, which doesn't mean anything to actual gameplay. And loftar's been run ragged trying to fix these crashes since.

Yeah. Went to bed around 9 AM, maybe even closer to 10. Now sure, most of us have had nights where we didn't get to sleep until then, or at all, because of Haven, but I somehow doubt any of this was particularly fun.

Unless loftar is an odd sort of fellow. Which could very well be the case, he did co-create this game as a hobby. In fact, it could be that he thrives on these harddrive failures. He is the one that did the coding for the game.

It makes more and more sense the longer I think about it. There must be a code in the programming that is set to randomly self-destruct. Haven and Hearth is just a big game of Russian Roulette, if you had a brain surgeon that arranged it all just so he could reconstruct the brains of whoever gets the loaded chamber.

loftar is clearly an evil genius whom we should fear and respect. Pray that he will never get a job to program anything involving missiles.

A reliable source just told me that the first HDD has failed again and needs another replacement. Expected downtime is another 23 hours.

I'd put more weight into some part of the code putting more stress on the hard drive than your average program does.

But I am by *no* means an expert or even an amateur. I do suspect that the problem wouldn't be easy to isolate since it's not a bug per se. Not sure what kind of metrics you'd even employ to figure out if something like that was happening.

All we know is that hard drive failures are pretty common for haven.
