i don't find this stage of the world very fun, whilst i'm sure this part of the world is what many others play for, it's not for me, this world's not been great either to be honest... and really, need you be so insulting, you have no reason to be, so don't be a dick

Scrub is a bit of an insult, just like greenhorn, amateur, mediocre, etc. If you're so thin skinned as to get irritated by a few words, why are you even still here in a game where you best have a thick skin?

He's right, though. Nothing is going to change when the server resets. The mediocre players will still be mediocre. There will always be power players and casual players in any game (along with those in between and outside that small box). Accept what group you are in and be happy with your superior choice.

It's because these days people have an enormous problem with subjectivity and objectivity, they can't understand the difference, hell it's not just not understanding the difference it's that they have no idea how people can possible think differently than they do. They can not actually comprehend it, and as a result they say such insulting things on a near constant basis. It's the only thing they can possible think, "This guy doesn't think the same as me, he must be an idiot!" But no, actually that isn't the case at all, people like different things, they like different music, they like different ways of doing things, and there is a completely valid reason for them doing so. But because they don't understand it, because they can't relate to it, and because they seem to think that their mindset is the defining one, they believe that it is the objective truth. People seem to have a real problem understanding that what they like is not what other people like and what they think is good is not viewed by the rest of the world as being so necessarily. This to me is a very scary concept with all things considered, why do you think so many people get hostile and defensive whenever some one presents a challenging point of view?

For example, say something bad about a game a friend likes a lot, they go crazy, they go insane! And while obviously not everybody does this, a sizable chunk of people do, and they are a very loud group of people. It's because they can not comprehend that some one out there thinks different than them, and it scares them that what they think is right/good might not really be the universal truth that they actually believe it to be. I think people need to detach themselves from the idea that their opinions, their preferences, their likes and dislikes, are somehow grounded in being a part of some retarded universal constant that is the all glorified righteous truth and that anyone that happens to disagree is a heretic that should be burned at the stake. I believe that we would have a much happier game, hell we would have a much much happier world if people would sit back and do this! But alas I doubt that people will do so, after all it would require a bit of thought that isn't centered on themselves.
