Im pro-cosmetic purchase but wouldn't it be more in the spirit of haven to lose everything when you die?

Because there's a difference between losing real money when you die, or losing something you can (rather easily) get back with gameplay. And in the end it's just skins, so what does it matter if he keeps them?

I wouldn't oppose H&H having cosmetic shop with account/character-bound skins. I think H1Z1 does this pretty well, the skins there work so, that you can't lose them since they're actually items that change appearance of an item you're wearing. For example if you want to apply a military helmet skin to a head slot, you need to find a suitable helmet to apply it to, a normal hat won't work for example. So in similar fashion we could have Dragon Helm skins that only work when you apply them to Dragon Helms, so not every rookie will have a dragon helm looking spruce cap.

So I've been thinking about this cosmetic issue about losing it on death, or it being account bound. How about selling it in x amounts? You'll have an account based inventory, in which you can only take stuff out off. Cosmetic items and if anything else would end up in the money store, would end up there. To make sure you don't mess up, you can only take out a single item, so you wont accidentally take out the whole stack of something. Say they will sell this blue ranger cape. They could sell it in different stack sizes with small discounts the bigger the stack? You would lose the blue cape and any other items you have on you, on death like usual. Just please make sure the cosmetic items are consumable, and not the actual ranger cape, that would be p2w, which we don't like. :)

Just my thoughts on the matter. This account might be new, but I've been a lurker for many years now. :)

Also, I wouldn't mind a subscription, unless it would be too high. 5$ would be a nice.

This discussion about the cosmetics is giving me a bit of a RotMG vibe. (color cosmetics you buy with real money that get lost upon death either way.)

Yeah, exactly!
RotMG was the only game I have ever encountered to do microtransactions the right way. A dollar might customize your Wizard to stand out from the crowd; but then a week later its dead, and you can choose whether or not to spend more money successive characters. No money was forced from you, but a lot of players still made small regular purchases to keep their characters in a specific cosmetic theme.
Then they got acquired by Kabam, who fucked it up into the worst model possible with the introduction of functional pets. They completely ruined game balance, and made the whole game pay to win. People have literally spent up to a thousand dollars on maxing their pets abilities. This undoubtedly would have increased profit margins immensely, and after all, that is what Kabam's goal as a company was, but the game has suffered overall. It seems Kabam's philosophy is to acquire games, then suck as much money out of them as possible, before leaving them by the curb to rot away. RotMG hasn't seen an update, or even any feedback from the 'devs' in almost a year.
Basically make sure that, whatever happens, NOTHING that affects game balance or progression is sold.

dont monetize gameplay OR else... ¦]
Morpheus: I imagine that right now, you're feeling a bit like Alice. Hmm? Tumbling down the rabbit hole?
Neo: You could say that.
Morpheus: I see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. Ironically, that's not far from the truth. Do you believe in fate, Neo?
Neo: No.
