what happens if you're swimming, or in combat and the server crashes? has anyone had this happen to them?

Best case scenario, when it comes back online you are immediately logged off. So if you were in combat the enemy will move away. If you were swimming then you will still have the same amount of stamina as when it crashed so you better do some fast clicking when you log back in.
Worst case scenario, the animal kills you or you drown. Not much worse than that.

err.... i believe that if you didn't die by drowning or attack, you can just log in at your HF and all will be well 
but since it's never happened to me i can't be sure.

I was just getting back into H&H, looking forward to logging in and having enough LP for Yeomanry (Itsy Bitsy's Web ftw) and then I find the server is down.
