Slaya he's saying it's already possible. Crafters are left offline, bumped when needed to craft, no scent-leaving.

People with dynamic IP's would be fucked. They couldn't log into their character that they made while using another IP.

It's not realistically possible to remove alts from the game. The best thing they can do to combat it, which is what they attempted to do in Salem, is to make it increasingly less desirable to have them in the first place.

By making getting better a result of gameplay instead of a bunch of AFK for curios?
Correct me if I'm wrong because I didn't go far deep into Salem (to big wars) but I was established with walls, braziers, mines...
If what I say is right, the Salem curio design is perfect.

to fix the alt problem?

one way is that the curios do not mature when char is offline.

how do we fix the fact a ton of alts just logged in a house? make a new client with AFK built in, and no player ran clients.

a harder way would have the curios be xp % amplifiers, and then have diminishing returns on repeated tasks

those have been talked about and/or just off the top of my head, people with a better grasp of programming have come up with other/better methods.

For the record, I do not want immortal crafters. I was saying having the ability to keep your crafting alts from harm's way SUXXXX,

H&H was a perma death game, we need to bring back that feel. If it takes you minutes a day to forge a mill+ lp char, then there is something wrong, look how many people have died in W6 and just shrugged it off. that should never be in a perma death game. W6 felt more like World of Warcraft than Haven and Hearth

They're able to do that because they've invested years of time into building characters, industry, and preparing for this. Having a world where people are able to raid each other regularly solves the problem of having characters with millions of lp. I admit this is not a perfect or completely elegant solution but it is Really difficult and time/work intensive to develop an industry that can regularly give one character a sizeable amount of lp a day, let alone multiple.

I disagree. yea the infrastructure needs to be there, but throwing vandal alts by the droves, just to get the recources not to mention raids galore. they practically risk nothing(except the vandal alt) and if the only answer is to Raid? not all of us are a bunch of cutthroats,

it wasn't that hard a deal, just look at W6 and all the deaths that came. only the new players felt the "perma death" concept, most villages and players who had any knowledge of the on goings of W6 totally bypassed the whole "perma death" aspect of H&H

bottom line, the Reset is premature. what was there to boast about W6. As I said previously, it'll be forever known as the world of exploits/haxx.

perma death should be universal, not just for the players who just began the game and/or who don't exploit/haxx or make an alt for every damn skill.

do you really think J&L envisioned a world where everybody had "alts" galore and no real risk was taken?

My propose is:
After falling the claim and decaying all builds, make the layed stones, bricks, golds will cover by the grass, like grass cover area without trees.
In addition, make that 4x4 tiles of grass spawn a spouted 10q tree in random tile of it.
It will be refresh this endless ruins, what we see in w6

In reality we can all argue about alts, teleportation, this that and the other thing till the end of time but in reality, Jorb and Loftar are going to do what THEY want to with the game because well, it's THEIR toy and they've made it quite clear that they have their own vision for what they'd like to do with it.

I'd love to see development and new features etc etc but until they have the time or inclination this is ALL YOU ARE GOING TO GET. Many of us have waited patiently for almost 2 years now for World 7 so i doubt any of us are gonna run away pouting this late in the game. just continue to be patient and one day jorb will make a post saying "We've been developing and......."
