Not being randomly discussed...

jorb wrote:By the by. Teleportation only along formal roads. No hearth secrets. Random wilderness spawns only.

jorb wrote:Correct. We think that that plus the increased difficulty in arbitrarily creating alts at a given location is going to be beneficial for the game's environment. Our perspective would be to approach it as a single-player game first and foremost.

Well, the alt creation is a legit concern but i completely disagree on the groups not starting together part. That is kinda dumb. I dont think i can convince a friend to try this game out if he cant play with me immediately. And that's even worse for communities.

Totally agreed. None of my friends will want to travel 5 hours first, and then play.

Has this decision been set in concrete yet or are they still just seriously considering it.

It's a social dynamic. I don't mind the teleportation, hf spawning, etc, being taken out as long as some positive insight is developed and a better solution presents itself or the systems are added back in if they are found to not work.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Well, if teleporting is removed/reduced it might make the world feel less empty as people have to travel by foot more often...
Just saying.

I don't mind having to find friends and the road teleport should have been a long time in coming. What I am curious is the speed of aquiring character travel abilities and the way map will look? Will there be rivers like always and if so will boats take a month to be able to be built like in salem? Will swimming be as easy as in salem or the noob trap that it was in haven?

This should at least cut down on alt walls and the like if not the more essential alts.

I'm worried about not being able to spawn together. I have friends who may be interested in trying to play the game with me but they aren't gonna want to dedicate 8 hours to walk to me just to start actually playing.

Haven 2.0 should have an aqueduct system where as you can channel high quality water into your village.

Also, shouldn't there be a way for the server to identify precise patterns (time/X,Y coordinate) and label them as bots?

I know I posted this a bit back, but is this actually a valid thing? Has there been discussion on this?
