Server issues: New server

I'm so sad, after nearly a 2 year break from when H&H was alive and well with nearly 800 people online this is what it has come down to be?

Yes, devteam abandoned us to "bleh" Salem "bleh"

Seriously, if they aren't interested in developing this game anymore, they should obviously give the source to someone who is interested in developing it. This neglect just give me nausea.

i think there should be a serious ban warning to all you ppl whose brain seem missing neuron connections that make you understand that it is no fun no more to read your boring stoopid fuzz over and over!

Each and every word about closed server source code and not giving it away aswell as HnH is not abandoned has been said already!
Also that Loftar and Jorb have to work for a living!

So shut the f up unless you're not able to develop something like this yourself and give it away for free

They need to work for a living, but don't you think they could make some money out of HnH? I think they could, they just don't know how to do it, it seems or they need paradox to take their hands and make money instead of them?

I just don't get it what part of "salem sux" they don't understand? Salem would probably never even come close to HnH, whatever they do. I just hope some sense will come to them...

"Salem sux" is just your opinion - enough ppl (even long time HnHers) enjoy playing it...

Don't get me wrong: i prefer HnH but i'd only say: Salem is not my kind of shoe but i really wish it will be sucessfull because it's honorless to wish them else!

I understand your tought. But damn, This isn't a recent problem -this problem has 3 or 4 months long. And all what we have heard this time was just words, words, and promises. We can't even be sure that they'll actually have the chance to fix the problem some day. This is what I'm afraid of. H&H is my favourite game, this is why I care so much about it. And I feel more afraid of thinking that this situation is (probably) going to last some more months.

I don't want to develop H&H myself, what i gave was just a suggestion

And to develop a game, I would need to spend a lot of time, a time that I can't spare.

I like Salem, tbh. no, it doesn't compare to H&H. yes, it is similar, but it's a different setup. there is not point in comparing because they aren't the same. saying Salem sucks compared to H&H is true, but compared to itself or other games, it is fun. So don't compare the 2. they aren't the same game.

Yea yea, been playing a little bit of H&H again. Although I probably should just trash my little H&H place to get it over with.

Kinda reminds me of Anim8or. Potential great program. Just riddled with annoying little bugs. Coder more focused on adding feature on top of feature, than fixing bugs. (Adding bugs on top of bugs is a great way to make adding features more and more difficult, and its a great way to start getting users complains to boot.)
Although the coder was sincere in his intend to do a second version. Until now he is still missing in action(years now). (Probably run into a motivational burnout. O well, c'est la vie ...)

The devs behaviour seems a bit odd at least.
At the gamedev.ru community the question about h&h server issues was discussed few times and a qualified server-side specialist residing in sweden was convienced to help h&h. He contacted h&h devs via bug tracking site to meet in persons (if they are so afraid) and try to help in the place and... silence was the only answer.
So it goes.
