So this is how an age of brick walls and palisades end, to open the way to an new age of open fields with millions of think lines of claims?

These are dark times indeed... The end is near.

I disagree. yea the infrastructure needs to be there, but throwing vandal alts by the droves, just to get the recources not to mention raids galore. they practically risk nothing(except the vandal alt) and if the only answer is to Raid? not all of us are a bunch of cutthroats,

it wasn't that hard a deal, just look at W6 and all the deaths that came. only the new players felt the "perma death" concept, most villages and players who had any knowledge of the on goings of W6 totally bypassed the whole "perma death" aspect of H&H

bottom line, the Reset is premature. what was there to boast about W6. As I said previously, it'll be forever known as the world of exploits/haxx.

perma death should be universal, not just for the players who just began the game and/or who don't exploit/haxx or make an alt for every damn skill.

do you really think J&L envisioned a world where everybody had "alts" galore and no real risk was taken?



There is a way to fix it. Make it so you can only log in from one IP, and 1 character per account, sure it will inconvenience some people, but they do that with steam, and it works out great.

One other option, make your account saved to a particular IP, so when you change ips you have to go through email verification, and thats annoying to do. That way IP changers will not want to bother changing ips just to log onto an alt. PROBLEM SOLVED

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

you would only delay, not do away.

but then again, I see it as a step in the right direction

(edit: of course for that to truly work, your gonna have to remove teleportation or the very least remove the ability to destroy one's Hearthfire so one could teleport to the village)

I'd just spend 5 mins random spawning until i found a place somewhat close to where i was going ;)

Well then how would people who legitimately want to play with each other do so? Or do you want to get rid of that as well and have 100% hermit life?

Please develop a prisoner system so I can capture painhertz and keep him tied up in my basement.

EDIT: Also allow the construction of rape dungeons in addition to or in place of basements.

you must be rather lucky.

I never spawned anywhere remotely close to anywhere I wanted to go in 5 minutes, let alone 30 minutes

but then again I never had a ton of alts in the past worlds to truly perfect this.
