Yeomanry aside, that doesn't change the fact there's a huge gap in protection. Something like a stone wall would do well to ward of some thefts.

Stone walls have been suggested many times. I'd love to see stone walls (with the new mechanics) that have more soak than palisades, but take a metric fuckton of stone to build and have good soak. Initial CP would also need cooldown and it would need to be able newb mats that newbies could get if they really are 'ready' to live somewhere and need 'decent' protection before a brick wall.

IMO anyway...

Well, I just want something that, at the very least, shows you care about protection. I've been robbed many times and woken up to the message "Atleast get a pally, man, fucking noob". Or something to bridge the curve between nothing and pallis. Because as it stands there really is nothing for a noob to protect themselves with.

But what that could be?
In fact, there are no walls that are easier to build than pali except fences and fences do not protect you. So, I think, the only way for newb to keep his stuff with him is hiding. You know, vaults inside boulders, buried chests, etc.

Why don't you have a pali? I'd have to agree with those people, get a palisade, it's ridiculously unexpensive, and thinking it is just being lazy, if you can't get a palisade up in under a day you're doing something terribly wrong, someone who's played over a week should be able to do it in a matter of hours easily. The initial post is the only problem and having any crops eases that, if not big deal you search around for strings while you're hunting the bones for bone glue. No part of the palisade is hard at all though to be honest, and once you get past there, haha it's like so easy it's not funny, just do it already.

Only if building walls becomes less tedious somehow

But I am curious which materials SevenBlade is having trouble acquiring. Is it the leather, glue, or ropes?

Ya, srsly. If you can't build yourself a palisade, you deserve to be robbed since it shows you don't care about protecting your stuff at all. You can get string, leather, and bones from simply hunting rabbits (turn the dried fur into a hide strap), so there's literally no requirements here. You might have to go on a little boat ride to find at least a q10 acre clay node if you haven't made a cauldron. Making a palisade is easily within a newb's grasp, it just takes a little effort.

Oh yeees you're so all experienced...you're forgetting about ppl that are still beginners and might find themselves alone in a wilderness situation where it's not that easy to find the needed stuff just to build a sting for hunting. And also you shouldn't forget that ppl do have different favours about the what to do in HnH. And then you'll might have only partly palisades - is that reason enough to get robbed or should (is) there be a common sense not to rape much weaker ppl ?!?
