I'd love to see stone walls (with the new mechanics) that have more soak than palisades, but take a metric fuckton of stone to build and have good soak. Initial CP would also need cooldown and it would need to be able newb mats that newbies could get if they really are 'ready' to live somewhere and need 'decent' protection before a brick wall.

IMO anyway...

Well, I just want something that, at the very least, shows you care about protection. I've been robbed many times and woken up to the message "Atleast get a pally, man, fucking noob". Or something to bridge the curve between nothing and pallis. Because as it stands there really is nothing for a noob to protect themselves with.

why would you want something less protective than a palisade. a palisade can be broken by 1 guy with 36 str and a ram.

jorb wrote:[*]Agility now matters in close combat. If you have twice the agility of your opponent, your attack cooldowns will be ~20% shorter, while his will be ~20% longer. The bonus scales continously within that range of agility difference, but not beyond it. More precisely, the cooldown bonus is (AGI / AGI)^¼, where the agility quotient itself is clipped to [0.5, 2.0].

Hm, what happens if you have negative agi (from armour)? Say, you get -1 agi, and the guy attacking you has 100. 100/(-1) = -100, and since -100 < 0.5 his agi quotient would be set to 0.5, thereby increasing his cooldown by full 20%. Of course, your own quotient will also be 0.5 (-1/100 = -0.01; -0.01 < 0.5), but that just gives you equal cooldowns, which is much better than you getting +20% and him -20%. But this would really make a difference in team combat, if you can get the enemy to go for your negative agi alt.

1 is as low as agi goes.

a man need only strike another to make him evil."

If your a noob you have nothing worth stealing and before you do get good stuff build a pally lol.
FYI string is plant fibers, nettle, spindly taproot, leather strap, and yarn.
Certainly, in taking revenge, a man is but even with his enemy; but in passing it over, he is superior; for it is a prince’s part to pardon. - A wise friend.

They're slowly balancing it, its just taking some time. First MC/UA were pretty much considered way better then MM for PVP. Then MM was way better. Now UA is looking to be the best. Just be patient, its called an alpha for a reason.

UA was the best last combat system as well.

And also you shouldn't forget that ppl do have different favours about the what to do in HnH. And then you'll might have only partly palisades - is that reason enough to get robbed or should (is) there be a common sense not to rape much weaker ppl ?!?

You forget that people play games to get away from reality for a while, to escape the drudgery of existance and social obligations, this sometimes means hanging up your moral values such as right, wrong, or stopping to ask questions such as "Should I fuck this person over simply because I can?". And they're well within their rights to do so, that's the nature of a sandboxy pvp enabled game.

Still a dick move though.
