If you don't trust jorb/loftar to mod the game sufficiently then how to you expect them to mod the moderators. ;)

(That's a joke, but the thought is still the same. I don't really have a problem with your suggested solution, but if the reason you need mods is because j/l don't have time to properly admin the game then how do you expect them to admin the mods?)

It's bad enough they can associate IPs with user accounts and track in game alts using this information, there's no way I would trust anybody, myself included, with that sort of power. It's literally impossible not to be biased.

If you're gonna have GMs they need to be impartial outside sources, not involved community members.

I agree entirely. I'm sorry but we are not endless sources of impartial knowledge and power. Ideally players wouldn't even be able to know who the GMs were or have any ability to communicate them aside from complaint tickets.

These are dark times indeed... The end is near.

What? Have you just never played the game before?

I guess i'm missing your feelings on this. Look if you can't be impartial, then drop the green now and walk away(that's something all moderators face). It just feels like everybody wants to complain, but when a solution is brought forth everybody cries out "Not it" or they wanna deride it.

you'll all flame me for this, but some time ago I said I wouldn't want the power, but hell, somebody's gotta do it. So Give it to me. Otherwise, stand up for what you are, and cry out "enough"

What's the worst I would do? nuke only one side?

Of course, none of this is gonna change anything, as J&L will do what they always do.

Because it's their game. They've earned that right. I trust their discretion in these matters. It's counterproductive for them to be anything but unbiased. They don't actively play the game. They don't have a vested interest in the success of one group or the failure of another. Also, if they wanted to cheat then they'd just cheat. They already have that power. They can just make their character invincible. Regular mods don't have this power. The only way they could gain an advantage would be to abuse their powers to punish their rivals.

I see you apparently never played Salem where jorb picked one guy he liked for some reason (Chief) and essentially gave him carte blanche both in game and on the forums to do whatever he pleased. Also? They most definately DO play Haven. You seem to have been around long enough to know all of this. Where do you think the term "Jorb's anal friends" came from?

I am happy we are getting a new world. As far as all the fixes I am kinda impartial about it all because yeah it is jorb and loftars game and we play it because we like what they created. I trust that they know what they are doing and I am going to enjoy the game with my friends as I had before and just be happy they made it and care enough to still be doing things with it. I am saying all this after finishing up the touches on my brick wall and helping to clean up a new village area and starting the brick wall for that so yeah although a lot has been going into this I am ready for a new world. Thank you guys. :D

I understand where people are having issues with the timing and yes there are a lot of great ideas. In the end though we are gamers and gamers bounce back so it's just another challenge to beat. :D

Being absolutely perfectly impartial is something that we can barely hold even our highest authorities to and we know that they are not perfectly impartial, they come with their own biases and attitudes. I'm some guy on the internet; even if you believe that you can trust me to perform my duty without evil, it is better not to. Given such in-game power you could leak information, abuse knowledge that you find, get access to information that no one else has, and the temptation to do wrong will always be there. Especially when you consider that no one would ever know or find out if you played your corruption smart.

The worst thing that you could do is provide an unfair playing field. Even once would violate the trust of players. Someone who is not playing, not being bullied by players, not being pressured by their friends, not being pressured by their enemies, and who is not tempted by the community in any way would be the best candidate to not backstab anyone in any way.
