yes, it seems good now.
why was it though that some people couldnt even log in while others who didnt get disconnected could still play?
one player got dc'd after horrible lag, then only managed to have logged in once before your fix, and it was with black screen and all and couldnt play. (she went to bed, so cannot tell if it got better for her after your fix.)
i dont remember lagging much at the beginning of w5 when it also had more than a thousand players online at once.

and another question, what value should your lag-o-meter be in general to expect the smoothness?

ok, here is another player crying, he cannot log in at all, still.
can you check it out, loftar? he(or she) is in haven IRC now.
*edit* oh nvm, he/she has made his/her own thread.

In my experience, everything under 1000 should be quite fine, and under 500 should be pretty much unnoticeable. It's not quite that easy, of course, but generally speaking.

Mind you, however, that the recent lag did not show on the Lag-O-Meter, since it only measures "in-world" lag, while the recent lag was network-related and therefore outside the game server itself.

Indeed, it's just that the sysctls I mentioned earlier have apparently had their default values changed since then.
