I'm not sure what your definition of semi afk is, but I'm sure that if you're near the computer doing anything in-game you can spare 5 seconds to fill out a captcha. And even if you can't, you'd still have 5 minutes (10, 30, a whole hour, whatever) to fill it out. The idea can be fine tuned to fit any of these scenarios while still preventing entirely automated bots... sure it won't be able to detect people botting for 30 minutes at a time, but that's not even a problem compared to people running bots 24/7.
I'm not really concerned about this too much though since I'm about 99% sure that jorbtar will never ever add captchas or anything similar to the game. I don't think they care a whole hell of a lot about people botting.
