It's not difficult, it's just that most crashes are caused by a bug or something similar and loftar prefers to trace and remove said cause for the crash before he restarts the server.

Ok server crashes and smoeone need to trace a bug and fix it. But everytime? They trace bug everytime server crashes? Why there is no autorestart for AFK hours and all errors written in some files? Like some error reporting system? When he is at computer he can trace those crashes and enxt restart apply fix or next crash... I don't believe that they want to fix bugs ASAP after crash or track them down imidiately. They could use at least autorestart and some reporting tool.

What if it is a serious bug that would occur shortly again after a restart? What if it's a bug that corrupts the database? No thank you, I'd rather have a downtime than rollbacks or world restarts.

loldoit!

Seriously, auto-restart on a server is really only good or applicable to well-tested code. Every crash they have is actually a "GOOD" thing (in their eyes) because it is debugging their code FOR THEM.

So stop your whining about not being able to play a FREE alpha-test game that beats the shit out of most regular payfor MMOs because it's occasionally crashed for an hour or two. Oh my god, the world will end, you are so entitled to your money back!

EDIT: Think of it as a globally enforced health break. Y'all play games too much to be healthy. Go outside, throw a spinny round disc around at your canine companion, eat real apples and cook real boar meat (okay that's kinda hard in this day and age actually)...

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

"(okay that's kinda hard in this day and age actually)..." Not really, we have boars here in Louisiana and we hunt them, but I'll tell you this, you'd never kill one with a sling and would have a hard time with a bow. I've seen a boar shot nearly point blank with a .12 gauge slug and it barely slowed him down......
