It's not JUST built on the old LP system. There is an element of game design called 'time gating'. This is one of those times. The time and effort involved in paving is important beyond the element of slowing LP gain for that work. I'm of the opinion that it's fine as it sits, perhaps even a little quick.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

(13:09:07) <Urist> loftar, what for?
(13:09:15) <loftar> Who knows. ^^
(13:09:31) <loftar> Jorb often just makes graphics that he thinks are cool, and then makes me think of something to do with them. ^^
(13:09:57) <Colesie> You should have them deliver messages to other village claims you are friendly to
(13:10:43) <Colesie> Allow a LS to send another LS a pact and if the other LS agrees then villagers don't leave scents on that village's claim and you are able to send ravens with goods between the two B)
(13:10:47) <Colesie> 2-3 items max
(13:11:03) <Colesie> Breed ravens like chickens :D
(13:11:05) <loftar> Nah, I think we have better plans for them. :)
(13:11:23) <Colesie> Any plans for domestic rabbits, foxes and growing blueberries?
(13:11:55) <loftar> When will you learn we never plan such things more than a week ahead? :)

If everything is server side, won't that just make scripting require automation on the client-side, requiring additional programs, making it so only certain people run scripts, as opposed to having them generally available? :?:

Scripts aren't encouraged, they're just allowed

Yeah because they're trying to have scripting spread everywhere?
No they're trying to make the game good enough to minimalize the need for scripting as far as I can tell, and client-side everything is so fucking bad every script kid with cheat engine can cheat like that.

I would be happy with it being limited to the people who created them. Nooby found cheat engine  ! But that's like a google search away from his skill level.

This news has made me very happy. :) Hopefully it'll come out in time for (an unproductive) summer!

A sidenote: Loftar, if you're going to open-source the client again, please comment your code. Either you wrote the whole thing in one night on a crack-binge or you're some wizard, because that shit is hard to follow.

I did enjoy this, however:

Bootstrap bill = new Bootstrap();
