I think the system would work better, if you increased the study time of all items, and removed 1 row off the study. Then casuals or people who don't bot, will be able to compete easier.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

i like new Salem system more. Actually i think this is the best LP system atm, i haven't find any BIG advanteges of using bots to get LP in Salem yet.

What is Salem system like ? Can you summarize it in key points for those who don't play Salem.

Certain curios give LP for certain stats. Eat same curio and your LP gain decreases. You need a variaty of curios and LP isn't 'global'. When you, for example, fill all the bars for all skills with LP and buy one, all of the skills lose their accumulated LP and stay the same except the one you raised. Extremely hard to bot. Your LP only goes up when ur online, so you can't play passively. The food system was cool too, no need for bots cuz no stupid hunger system, you could eat all of your food at once, etc.

It is not easy to explain, if you never played it, but I'll try.
You study inspirationals (curiosities-like things) to increase proficiencies. Inspirationals give different number of points in different proficiencies (I will use just "P." for that). When P. bar is full, you can increase it, full bar is equal P. value*100. Full bars are green on the picture, that means I can increase pots&pans or sparks&embers:

Or I can study more inspirationals to get the kiln construction skill, I need to study something that will give me 842 arts&crafts (I already have 358, so it is required 1200 - 358 = 842). All the red skills are locked, I need to increase certain P. to unlock them.
To study inspirational you need to have certain amount of inspiration (numbers at lower left corner of the picture). Each inspirational takes different amount of it, some cost you 1000, some over 10 000. You don't have to wait for hours or days like in hnh to study things, you're getting points right away, but inspiration regeneration requires some time. For example my noobish char inspiration regenerates with a speed of 1,29 per second, it can be speeded up with certain skills and humours developing.

I like that system too, it seems to be pretty well balanced and it doesn't encourage botting as Apx pointed. Though it can be annoying at early stages. You have to wait for a long time to get some basic skills and you have almost nothing to do while you're waiting, because of lack of craft and building recipes at the beginning. And you can't spend that time on food and humours developing, because you have to wait for hours after you used gluttony mode to be able to use it again.

UPD: Nooby confirmed faster

My problem with the salem system is that I found that all I could do is walk around and forage stuff, and spam study. I feel like the problem with the salem system is stuff studies way too fast, so that you dont have time to do other junk.

If the new haven system curios gave you lp or something in a specific skill, that would be ok, as long as they take ages to study. I like filling my study bar and being set for a few hours to do whatever. Salem feels like everything is a mega fast cone cow, that is much harder to get

You sound like you played salem with the old system. Now forage-grind and everything else you mentioned is not the issue anymore. On the contrary, now you have so much time without possibility to study stuff, that you don't know what to do with it.

Salem LP system was changed a bit with last patches so now you have amount of 'learning ability' which you can spend studying curios and which is regenerating over time. So you have 'cap' of curios you can study per day. Just have enough count and do whatever you want. But, as i understand, high-quality curios will still give you more profit over low-q so the game will not just "free exp for every noob, everyone equal, no skills and industry just playing 30 mins and i'm pro".

Ah, that sounds much better then before. That would be relatively acceptable for haven. Cuz less botable stuff is better.
