The main point of the game to me was the fact that you could do ANYTHING you wanted, and still get experience for it, that feature of the game was removed.

The main goal of the game now is running around after trinkets so you can get some mediocre lp?

Oh well, after some hours of boredom, I could no longer force myself to keep playing this abomination. If anything is done to fix the game, I'll be back, otherwise...

It has been a fun experience in world 4 tho, time to move on.

You couldn't do anything and still get experience for it. The only things that gave moderate to decent experience were repetitive bullshit that just got botted anyway.

Hunting was the main 'fun' in W3 besides mining parties IMO, both were killed with W4.

How about you W4 people realize that W4 also killed the 'fun' for a good deal of people in W3. I at least tried to enjoy W4 on several occasions, and I found one thing fun about it mining, the rest was boring to me, it killed the 'essence' of the game, but in doing so it instead simply changed the whole game.

Find what it is in W5 that is the 'essence' of this world, until we find that we won't go anywhere. I said a lot about W4 and hated the fact that it had no curiosities before it was out, I thought it would just suck shit all over, animals too rare, didn't kill you enough, too easy to trap. Lots of problems I saw, but even with that W4 was still 'okay' just a different kind of okay from W3. W5 will probably be the same, and maybe by W250 or something they'll refine it so all the things you liked about W4 are there, all the things I liked about W3 are there, and we can both be happy on a single server griefing each other.

But, it's still alpha, so who knows, some things will be sacrificed to test others, continuously.
Feedback is pretty important though even if they don't get to read it.

Yes, but I met the game at W4, so I have no idea what W3 was like, but I really liked the game as I knew it. And I tried HARD to like W5, but face it, after some time, after some time playing, there's absolutely nothing to do, it's no fun to build a settlement, because if you choose to do it, your character won't grow, if you choose to grow, you won't "play" the game as you like it, because you're forced on errands to gather materials so you can get MEDIOCRE lp.

You said that 40 lp every 20 minutes from pine cow was decent, c'mon, you can't be serious. I used to get that by picking a random foraging item every 2 minutes. Now I ignore spindly taproots, there's no reason to bother picking them if I'll get no experience at all, and I really don't need 7 of them in my inventory.

If mining and hunting used to be fun for you, I really liked farming, that was what hooked in this game. And now we get to the same point, I can't dedicate my character to farm, because if I do so, my character won't grow, and I'm faded to farm forever (that is IF I get to the point of develop farm and be able to protect my land, with Yeomanry at 4000 lp, I don't see how a player can reach that so soon, not to mention the costs for expanding).

And I'm aware this is alpha, I just didn't like things the way they are, as I said before, if things change, I'll come back to check them, if not, I'll just stay away from this game, that was once a great game.

And who says that farming doesn't give curiosities?

there is no longer an incentive to kill other players since there is no lp gain, other than griefing or to get items from them is that correct?

You can eat spindly taproots.

Don't bitch about starving if you're throwing them out / ignoring them. 3 explo and I'm walking around like the god of all blueberries and spindly taproots. >_>

Yes, it has, if they are that hard to get a hold of, or that rare that only the extremely lucky or the most powerful of villages can get a hold of one or two of them every now and then, wouldn’t it be more effective to just sit and use lower end ones such as the following scenario of something like this: 40 LP from a cone cow in 15 minutes and a high end thing such as, let’s say an item such as “an overly ornate ring of power and deliciousness” crafted with 10pearls, 10diamonds, a few gold, silver, and platinum bars, a troll skull, 50L of honey and Jorb’s spit that gives out 5000 LP in a few days to a few weeks.

Potjeh wrote:Copy paste of my argument to the devs to make curiosities the only LP source (I feel so hated now ^_^):
Making curiosities the sole way of gaining LP is also a way to make different playstyles more feasible. Right now, if you want to be a dedicated merchant you better like having a crappy character, since arranging and conducting deals doesn't give any LP and every moment spent trading is a moment not spent killing bears, grinding flour or doing something else that does give LP. Removing LP from actions will also remove the atmosphere-breaking gamey stuff, like killing animals and then just leaving the corpses there, or converting large swathes of forest into buckets. Removing incentive to do stuff that's essentially useless will result in people doing more useful stuff, especially in cases where the game itself can't distinguish between the two (are you making a bucket because you're grinding, or because you need a bucket?). Unlike the game, other people can easily tell if something is of benefit to them, and reward you for any kind of service accordingly. This would also kill macroing once and for all.

At least you are honest enough to admit it...doesn't change the fact that I''d light the torch that set your stake ablaze and laugh as you burned. I take it it did occur to you that some people liked decorating their area, building stuff and so forth and DID NOT runn around killing bears? SO along with making YOUR ability to sit and chit chat with your friends while you figure out how best to RP a pretend merchant...that youalso now killed all joy in actually working in the game? SInce I'd have to now stop doing everything else and make curisities and or roam around getting carpal tunnel syndrome and dodging boars and bears looking for stupid flowerson the ground or cat gold in the rocks? SO yeah....i guess YOU now have a good RP Merchant gmae to play at the epense of everyone else having to do what YOU like to do inthe game. Shall we rename it "Haven and Potjeh's sit and trade game...lol"

Game crashed and my character died, so, I guess it's back to my other hobbies. Happy gaming to everyone.
