I am not a big fan of that. My preference would be a simple monthly fee. Or a pure cosmetics shop that doesn't allow you to trade the purchased items with others as PoE does it. Works well enough for them.

There is another way. The cosmetics you have, you can attach to items you already have, like clothes. They could be bound to you, and when you die, the effects go into a virtual cosmetic box, which you can put on your new clothes when you respawn.
Untradleable cosmetics is the only way to go!

Well what I said does not exclude what you said. I am fine with that.

By some magical devil witchcraft I managed to get the day off. Have to go buy a new car that morning, but the rest of the weekend I'll be with you people.

God help us all.
Yes, I am a Wizard.

Great, you pay mine, and those of at least half the people in my village/community. Some of us play Haven both because its a great game, and because we can't afford to pay for a monthly fee of even $10 a month. We can squeeze out $5 here and there to buy an enhancement to support the game, but not reliably the $10. That's the joy of FTP games with micro-stores. Everyone can play, and sometimes spend money on it.

In all seriousness though, creating something to generate income for the developers *is* something that affects game play, by generating income for them. Additionally, if you don't think cosmetic items have an effect on the in-game environment that modifies the game, peoples perception of it, and their desire to play? You're wrong.

jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

I could support this motion. But I think it will be called W8.

my two cents - I would buy beards and hairstyles. They aren't lootable, but could potentially be (somewhat?) inheritable..

Wonder how the donation button is doing..

(edit: i would also buy hats and stuff, personally, but honestly i don't know how sensible it is to put those things in a permadeath "full loot" game. Criminal scum can now affect your wallet as well as your in game experience. And i think there should be enough free clothing options to differentiate different groups and people, anyway. What I really want is the ability to put a pattern of my choice on my shield.. village uniforms!)

not really a strong enough argument for cosmetically altered items to not be lootable/tradable imo
