any ideas why?

Unfortunately not. It happened some weeks ago, and I didn't even notice it until several days after the fact, so I have no idea what might have caused it.

Hetzner verifies that they'll replace the drive at 22:30 UTC, so I'll be turning the server off a bit before then (still no hotswap bays QQ). That means that the forums and website will also be unavailable then.

If I had discovered the failure when it happened, I would have, but at the time I saw it, the backup would already have been overwritten several times. :)

Thanks for keeping us up to date Loftar, I'll anxiously be awaiting my time to return to the hearthlands.

Now is one of my favorite times, since when I play I am usually freshly home from work and drinking beer, so the lag doesn't bother me. The world is both safe for be because no one else seems to tolerate the lag, yet I have free rain to lay waste to the world since most people aren't going to log on and check for scents either.

Today is a good day.
Today is a good day to die.

No Matter how many times the server goes down I am still here to try to stay alive. the Lag the death by pigs or swimming with lag or death by unrully Heathens. I still will wait with a 2liter of Mountain Dew pack of smokes a loaded pipe a bag of doritos and a freezer full of Hot Pockets. i will wait for the world to begin and be reborn. I agree. I don't play too often since we're so late into W6 now, but, I'm glad to see things are still being taken care of.

So there, the disk has been replaced, and the RAID is rebuilding. I'll turn the game server back on when it is rebuilt. The array is currently reporting that it will take about 800 minutes for it to rebuild, but the speed is fluctuating quite a bit, so take that number with a grain of salt.

do you think this will have any effect on the current state of the lag? or is a new disk not enough to solve that?
