You need to "charge" your attack bar before a chop will happen. There seems to be missing a default simple attack. It takes a long time between attacks currently. Maybe this is intentional.

Reguarding the map reset, will the quality of resources and mine locations be changed so people with lots of experience don't run to the best spots right off?

You need 4 Initiatives to chop. Try dashing a bunch.

Hm Chop and Cleave seem to make the same damage.

I've attempted the attack with 10 init tokens and gotten nothing.

I think the reset is to reduce everyone back to a level playing field. That way the players who exploited bugs will no longer have the huge advantage they had before. However, of course cheats will still be cheats and care bears will still be care bears and experienced players will still be experienced players who know how to build up stats fast.

The devs are trying to balance between it being hopeless to oppose the player killers, and the threat of player killers being a piddling irrelevance. We will know how well the reset works in another couple of months once we see what happens then.

A noob may start with 100 hp but a bear one hit mine for 9 hhp of damage.

Edit: A second bear did the same damage with one hit, but I think he missed with his first two or three swipes! My little brand noob managed to walk halfway around a tree trying to get away from him before one of those blows connected.

Yes, but Cleave does it with 1.5 times the attack value. :)

Alright, chop seems to work now. I removed my old hotkey and replaced it, finally started working.
