And Jorb has said this same thing himself. I would like to point you to the appropriate post, but I forget where it was at.

The big question is: how do you do that? Some publishers have just said "screw it" and embraced the fact that some things are just tedious and allow players to bot as long as they're not running bot farms.

Make things that give easy LP and are easily botted to be rewarded less or nothing, and make things that can't be botted more rewarding.
Example:
Mining can be botted, but very hardly, because you need to build mine supports unless you bot zig-gaz pattern, but that would be stupid as you won't mine around node but through them. Simple solution, make mining rewarding LP as before in previous system and 50% for tiles where no ores drops. Was it like 56 LP for each pick hit?
Make lumberjackingless tedious, like reduce duration of chopping time, make better wagons and transportation for logs (make wagons go through normal doors).
Lumberjacking should reward some medium LP but no LP for making buckets.
Farming: farming is easily botted and this should reward very low or no LP.
Hunting: as far as I know hunting is hardest to write bot for. So this should reward pretty nice LP like before 8k LP for a bear kill + tooth and bones for study if you have too much bones. Same for other animals.
All curios should have study time reduced by half or even more and ofcourse also LP reward reduced in that manner. Meaning that you can't just fill in mentory and go away for one day and harvest free LP next morning. No. You need to at least come back after few hours and put in new curios or do LP rewarding stuff.

That would make combination of old system and new system together, but all system would not reward everything as before but only some tasks.
Killing animal: very good reward.
Foraging: very good reward.
Mining: good reward
Farming low reward.
Crafting low reward, depends on quality you make. So better quality = more reward. For crafting there would be rewards only for some specific crafts that doesn't destroy world (so no bucket or basket grinding), but rewards like making doughs, leather, leather and metal items,... More quality more reward.

Also in game still exists curiosities, max study time of any curiosity should not be more than 12h, and max rewards should not exceed 12000 at 360% learning rate. Of course quality can raise LP gain, this is only for q10 curios.
Also you cannot study same curio more than once per day.

Something like that?
Of course there should be reduced time on tedious stuff we have to do, like I wrote above but on more operations. To that point that would make botting pointless. Because this is only way to win a war against botters. Make botting pointless or give people that actually play game without bot a way to get same if not better results as botting.

It's been said before and I'll say it again. You mine because you need ore. You cook because you need food. You hunt because you need sausages. NOT TO GET LP, THEY HAVE THEIR OWN REWARD. I hope they keep this system and never go back to that botting hell.

Calm the fuck down, the old system has it's merits and going full on with this system you can notice it's faults are the same exact faults as the last system, implementation. The idea itself wasn't flawed it was just fucked up the way it was done, same with this system, there may indeed be merit to going with a mix, and I guess when we start to see more people breaking the shit out of the current system, we'll eventually either see better implementation or again a whole 'drop it and change' deal like W5.

I sorta like the idea of shorter curio times. A steady but slower supply of LP would make the early game a lot more fun....i doubt it would affect the late game much tho.

Who knows if there will even be LP at all, maybe it will be xp earned as you work on seperate skills.

Nobody knows what is going to be in this game, so nobody can say anything about this.
