As I said, this discussion is rather pointless. Botting can be minimized but not completely removed because people are crafty and would find a way around it.
I agree with your opinion that botting is against the spirit of the game, but no argument will ever change the mind of the botters. We can expect no benefit in debating this.
The best way to play a botless and meaningful survival game is as a forum RPG. And I mean that seriously, not sarcastically. I don't believe haven will ever be truly botless or even altless.
