How much stronger does it get than $ = ingame riches... That is the death of any game for me personally.

i don't think that being able to sell blue hats is going to give a significant market edge

Great, you pay mine, and those of at least half the people in my village/community. Some of us play Haven both because its a great game, and because we can't afford to pay for a monthly fee of even $10 a month. We can squeeze out $5 here and there to buy an enhancement to support the game, but not reliably the $10. That's the joy of FTP games with micro-stores. Everyone can play, and sometimes spend money on it.

In all seriousness though, creating something to generate income for the developers *is* something that affects game play, by generating income for them. Additionally, if you don't think cosmetic items have an effect on the in-game environment that modifies the game, peoples perception of it, and their desire to play? You're wrong.

Subscription fees generate income for developers too without making them creating glorious and shiny hats for weeks, btw. Also, I said affecting gameplay. Under that I mean that I would prefer bridges to one million variants of spruce hat 0.50$ each. And maybe subscription fees in the case, where there are 2 devs and not 20, could be better. I would also prefer Haven to stay FTP, especially when soon you could buy a palace for 10$ in Russia, but sometimes bad solutions from one side are very good from another.

Now that I think about it, swaganati is right. Tradeable cosmetics isn't even that big of a deal. However. I think that less people will buy cosmetics if they can be lost.

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I don't think itll matter that much in haven, and tell me a game where tradeable cosmetics has ruined it?

Everyone is busy discussing monetization and captchas, but what I want is just a simple description underneath the name of the village that you can see when you enter the vclaim which can be changed by LS or chieftain.

Wakfu

Those are the top 5 most expensive items, number 5 already being purely cosmetical. On the following ranks basically 50% of the top sellers are purely cosmetical and they are the ONLY items that sell like hot cakes. You usually get rid of them minutes after putting them up, I tried myself. Useful gear? Takes days and weeks to sell if at all..
