The aim of curiosities (I assume) was to standardize and equalize LP gains. It has seemed to do this, although I can't tell for sure how well.

The unfortunate side-effect is that LP gain speed has been slammed into the ground, severely capped, and removed from the player's control.

I'm currently building a house. After that I might look around for some taproot to make some rope for a well, but past that, there isn't a lot I'm going to be able to do. I will literally be waiting to advance. I could start stockpiling clay or something, but without yeomanry that'd be a remarkably stupid idea. I'm going to stop playing and go do something else. Not because I want to, but because there will be nothing else for me to do.

Was this the intention?

No idea.

This, i understand the need for a overhaul of the system, but i have been wandeting a while and now i got notthing to do but wait fir the primiitve doll to give a payout... it hurts that there is no return at all from doing chores and construction. Just a little LP gain for things you do in addition to the study. That was what i thought it would be like when i first read the world 5 announcment. Cause this is slowing the whole progress of the game down way to much. Note: i never grinded once, i gained my lp by slowly buildig myself and building out my property. (for the: "you grinder" trolls

yeah I know how the curiousity stuff works, got as many different ones studing as I can, but only one ticks at a decent bareable speed, the others tick so slow I sit here with nothing to do. I love the whole idea, just needs to not take so long to study them.. maybe 5min per attention point used or something

still looking for a confirmation on the clay problem please

What might help would be if they were "Consumed" in the same way that, say, dinnerware is.

By that I mean, reduce the timers on everything SUBSTANTIALLY, but have it so that each tick, they give less LP, and they drop in quality by one.

Or something, I don't know.

Of course, if that did happen, you might want to increase the quality multipliers of some items SUBSTANTIALLY. So, say, you'd have certain items have immensely high quality (longer lasting) but give you less LP gains. But then you might end up with the thing that "grinding" will come to mean "constantly making sure you're burning the most valuable curiosities".

Yeah but even as it is where it dissappears after one use is fine if we didn't have to wait for so long for it to finish studding

To all those saying "You bstrds! GRRRRRR!" :(

The game is still in ALPHA! (Let alone Beta). Go find another MMO that isn't being developed if you don't want new worlds.
