Never ending process. Happens all the time. You demand a new world because somewhat 30 new people join a dead game run by the players and 0 dev support. And 0 resources to be found. Sir within 5+ months your village will most likely be gone. And depending on where you live, higher tier players will probably find a way to take your resource nodes beginning of the world anyway. Demanding a new world just for that reason doesn't solve anything.

I know that the occasional resetting of the world is just a result of the development of the game but I can't help but think it should be embraced as part of the final product somehow.

I've only been playing since W6 was already 'old' and folks were waiting for the reset. Here's the current state of the world:

Abandoned.

It feels like I'm playing a post apocalyptic game. There are plenty of abandoned areas that are ripe for scavenging. Many no longer have claims. I've managed to find some Mid Q nodes (water, soil, and clay in the 50s), a huge abandoned cave complex that likely spans 1/2 a SG with lots of forageables, plenty of ore (levels 2-5 aren't heavily mined out), tamed animals (q in the 70s-80s), and crops (q80+).

On top of that, the veteran players are mostly killing each other or selling high Q goods on the cheap. You don't have any of these things when a world starts fresh.

I say make the most of it and build in W6. There is more opportunity here than in a reset. Plenty of area is left without inhabitants, folks might not even notice you exist for several months.

ok i don't know why people are assuming that i don't know how to survive in fact im doing well for myself and 2 other people im just saying this because it would be better for others not me. and to respond with the "just join a village" there are many people (me included) who don't trust people and have heard story's of villages that if you join them you will be killed by the village leaders its just not that easy.

You painted that yourself:
Your original post wrote:(this opinion may be based on the fact that i have had multiple new hearthlings that have been chewed up and spit out by bears water and the occasional player or it could be the fact that i don't have a self sustaining fortress.)

Others can speak for themselves.

Those stories are only for villages which are known for having a bad rep, there are reputable villages looking for new members and it's not hard to do a background check to see if they are good. And you know what, part of the experience is the tough times when shit happens, you put up with it and pull through. If you're refusing to join a village because some villages have done some things, then you're putting yourself back where I said in my reply as forcing yourself to play that way. You're making your own problems by your mentality of not taking risks.

thats because you kind of are. this game has had a SERIOUS drop in playerbase since des went on to work on salem, im willing to bet most of them are going to return once salem is complete, but at the moment, the world is almost empty you have a few good players who are engaged in pretty much a boredom war.

a world reset is not going to change a damn thing, even if you have the chance to get to that boredom war level, its not going to matter, because youll still be doing exacty what you are now. in order for anything to change or get better, the game needs some serious updates.
i really need to find a good signature

"It feels like I'm playing a post apocalyptic game."

Bingo. This is why I'm currently not playing and am enjoying Salem. Regardless of the fact that Salem isn't as fun as Haven, it has a brand new world, tons of new people playing and there's just an excitement about it.

I'm enjoying salem too now. I'm really sick of HnH after such a long time ;p
And I think it's well-made, Jorb and Loftar did a really good job there, I like the way of buying skills and that you accually can get silver without paying :)
But I'd like my brother to play with me cause he doesn't have a key yet :/ If someone has a free key or knows when there will be new keys, please let me know so he can join the game ;)
Hope you have a great day
