Now that I've seen the new movement visuals and sounds from things like smithing and farming I can't help but feel that having little premade sounds/gestures/actions wouldn't be terribly out of line,

Haven't read rest of the thread yet (another 3-4 pages), but anyone recall the :act commands from Salem? We don't want something like that, do we?

Not that I ever actually got around to playing salem to know, what I was picturing was less Character locked to space, play animation with no way to cancel. And more along the lines of certain animation plays above characters head while moving, but possibly accompanied by action if the player is standing still.
By animation above the head I'm thinking similar popping einher. But with appropriate representation of whatever it was you're trying to convey

Let us reflect upon the good he was able to do during his short time in the hearthlands.
Let us remind ourselves of his bravery and willingness to fight for the safety of his friends!
Let us hope he can surpass his previous achievements in his future lives.

The animations were funky to say the least. You could string several together and get some really weird shit. Maybe someone still has a screenshot or video floating around. They got yanked early on. (I'm guessing it was orders from above, but no way of knowing for sure.)

i think the perma death is one of the main aspects of why we are drawn to this game, most games piss out becuse ppl with poor resolve (alot of ppl saddly) and give them almost no consequnce of death but that dosnt teach anyone much atall no no, death is the main concept of life, in most games you can go kill and camp people when they respawn and laugh it off like nothing happned but that leads to a shitty comunity full of trolls imo, tho there are a few good apples in em, with the perma death aspect imo ive seen tons of good ppl tho there are trolls(metaphorically and litterally) they can easily be stoped by beating the shit outa them or ultimatly killing them to hopefully teach em a painful lesson ¦]
ALSO can you add more enemies as time goes on? id love a good fight, since theres trolls why not add in like goblins or werewolves(with needing silver weapons) and maybe diffrent sorts of creeps and animals idk just tossing it out there with customizable village flags and shields/metal shields with village symbols on em, make it more midevilish

No, pls don't, I've never been able to get my head around the fact that there are trolls, it's too much wine drinking that makes them appear, lol.
More real animals I'm all for though.

"set in a fictional world loosely inspired by Slavic and Germanic myth and legend"

Imo, trolls are fine, but yeah, vampires and werewolves and it'd a bit twilight-esque.
