At least the world could reset if it got nuked too bad. Who doesn't love a good reset?

Players with an investment in the world. Believe it or not it's kind of a pain in the ass to lose everything you've worked to make. This is a big reason why we worked so tirelessly to protect our cities and characters.

I don't ever see an end to this discussion. it is difficult to predict an answer when the question isn't even valid to the person being asked.

It seems like jorb has found his new setup. This is his baby who has grown up and become an annoying as hell teenager. No one wants to be around an annoying as hell teenager, so why should he?

Point is: The resolution doesn't seem visible on the horizon anytime soon

Nah, I'd say it grew up into a retarded 30 yr old man-child who still wears diapers, collects Elvis paraphanalia and throws dangerously violent downie-tantrums.

Lets see, where did I post that picture of W6... Oh yes, here it is:

The game was quite playable. I even used (along with my pal) a nukedland to hide from an aggresive village for 4 weeks. (they finally found us, damn barbarians)

My problem is the lag killed my main. and i lost contact with everyone... so if I begin to play again, I am on my own... with countless lag spikes... begging a blueberry to get the hell in my backpack..

I know that feel.

It wouldn't be good. I haven't played in months, and i sure as hell don't want to start a new world where walking 5 feet takes over a minute.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

there needs to be a time where the game shuts off (easy there boys. let me finish) and the problem is fixed. then, once the problem is fixed, the world can be reopened as either new or this world with the fix. I don't see the problem being fixed while there is possibility of partial loss to players. If the problem erases someone's <insert precious item here> but doesn't erase another player's item, it would cause havoc. I do believe that a wipe would fit this scenario, but if no one is left feeling cheated, perhaps this world can be salvaged as well. Besides immense excess items/structures ingame to buffer, there isn't a really problem in the world. just the lag.

and a shut down would just mean people need to watch the forums for the reopening. ya know?
